The venue comprises the 18-hole Championship Sea Course and 9-hole links-style Stone Course, both created within an ancient archeological site. Open in 2005, Estonian Golf and Country Club is regarded as Estonia’s finest golf venue and has taken its rightful place in Golf World Magazine’s prestigious Top 100 European Courses three times in a row, a spectacular achievement for a venue in an emerging golf nation.
The Club boasts a contemporary, award-winning clubhouse with panoramic views over both courses and the Jägala River Delta beyond. EGCC has hosted twice the World Cup European Qualifier and many individual European Championships. In 2016 Estonian Golf & Country Club will host the Men’s Individual Europeasn Championship in August.
The Sea Course, with its 18 holes stretching over 6500 meters (7,100 yards), is a true championship golf course. Holes built beside unspoiled forests reach out to the seashore and to the Jägala River. The elevation changes, oak-chip pathways, ice-age boulders and natural water hazards have given the Estonian Golf & Country Club a chance to create a golf course like few others in the world. With its length and complexity, the Sea Course is a real challenge even for even the best golfers.
The Sea Course has hosted many international tournaments such as the Omega Mission Hills World Cup European Qualifiers in 2009 and 2011, Mid-Amateurs, Seniors and Ladies Individual European Championships and the Men’s individual European Championships in August 2016.
In the next few years the Sea Course will also get a facelift from our architect Lassi Pekka Tilander. He was the first Finnish golf course architect to join the ranks of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Tilander also has a Diploma in Golf Course Architecture from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
For four consecutive years, Golf World magazine has selected our Sea Course as among Continental Europe’s Top 100 Golf Courses.

Annika Course / European Golf Design
In 2019 the new Annika Course designed by Annika Sörenstam and European Golf Design (EDG) will open at Estonian Golf & Country Club.
Annika Sörenstam’s achievements rank her as one of the most successful female golfers in history. She won 90 international tournaments as a professional, making her the player with the most wins to her name in the ladies’ game
“I consider Golf Course Design to be another avenue for me to share my passion for the game of golf.”
“It’s exciting to be designing my first golf course in Europe, especially one that is so close to home,” said Annika, a native of Sweden and 10-time major champion. “The golf industry has been talking a lot about the need to develop golf facilities that are more flexible and family friendly, and Estonian Golf & Country Club is actually going to make it happen.
“My objective is to create a course that good golfers will find a strategic challenge, as well as visually appealing, while the design will utilize a variety of forward tees to make it equally enjoyable and engaging for newer golfers and young players. Ultimately, the layout will offer great versatility, from tournament play to resort golf, giving all golfers, no matter how far they hit the ball, a world-class experience.”
European Golf Design was established in 1992 as a Joint Venture between the European Tour and IMG. EGD is redesigning the courses for both the 2018 Ryder Cup in France at Le Golf National and the 2022 Ryder Cup in Rome at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.
We want to host at least one important international golf tournament every year here at EGCC! In doing so, we believe that we are increasing the level of expertise about the game of golf in Estonia by giving our golfers the opportunity to see top international players compete on home turf.
Our Sea Course has twice hosted the Omega Mission Hills World Cup European Qualifier, in 2009 and 2011.
Estonian Golf & Country Club’s Sea Course has hosted keenly contested matches between European Tour players like Joost Luiten, Robert-Jan Derksen, Felipe Aguilar, Mark Tullo, David Drysdale, Stephen Todd, Graham DeLaet, Jamie Donaldson, Alastair Forsyth and Jose Filipe Lima at the World Cup events in Estonia.
EGCC has hosted Individual European Championships for Seniors, Mid-amateurs and Ladies. In 2016 the Men’s Individual European Championships will be played on the EGCC Sea Course.
Keith Waters, Director of International Policy for The European Tour, said: “Staging the Omega Mission Hills World Cup European Qualifier in Estonia is very much in keeping with the spirit upon which the World Cup was founded. Bringing a truly international event such as this to an emerging golf market such as Estonia can only serve to further accelerate the growth of the game in this country and also in this part of Europe.”
